Greats legacy site leveraged a Shopify theme that felt templated, cold, and generic. Over time, the site had incurred a fair amount of design due to a lack of design systems and reusable components. This resulted in technical and design debt that made updating the site challenging from a consistency and performance perspective.
impact

The year following site-launch (June 2018 through June 2019), Greats netted sales of approximately $13 million USD. In August of 2019, Greats was acquired by Steve Madden.
